The Governor General of India, in Council, in which it is clearly laid down, that,
"to an Officer transferred from Indian to Colonial Service, a pension may be granted of one sixtieth of his average emoluments at the time of transfer for each completed year's service in India, such average emoluments to be calculated for the last five years, or if the whole service in India is less than five years, for the whole period of service."
From what has been stated above, it would appear that my Indian Pension should be calculated on my average emoluments from the 26th April 1869 to the 16th October 1873, at the rate of Rs. 200 per mensem whilst at Kooshtea, and Rs. 350 per mensem for service in Seebsangor, a period of over four years, so that 4/60th of my average pay, would at any rate seem to be due to me, and not 2/60th as now sanctioned.
I would therefore pray that you would forward this, my application, to the Secretary of State for India, for reconsideration of the amount of pension due to me for my service under the Indian Government.
I have the honour to be, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
Ch. Mc. Ameri
